The Kilimanjaro Lemosho Route is a preferred ascent route because it offers more acclimatization time and more spectacular scenery. Note: the itinerary ascends via Stella Point and NOT the Western Breach due to safety reasons. This will be an 8 day ascent to the “roof of Africa”, averaging 7 hours of climbing a day and approximately 12,000 feet of elevation gain. We will start at Lemosho on the Western side and traverse across the most spectacular parts of the mountain including the Shira plateau, Lava Tower, Barranco valley and up to the summit via Stella Point. Descent is via the Mweka route.
We will climb over 12,000 feet in total starting at basecamp of 7,500 feet and reach the summit of Kilimanjaro at 19,341 feet.
